From choosing to certification
Your ISTQB exam guide
Practical guidance for booking, exam day, results and retakes, with provider terms kept separate from global exam facts.
Begin with the ISTQB exam fees overview to compare total cost, taxes, retake charges and booking terms. Provider prices and local routes are in the country guides.
New to ISTQB? Start with what ISTQB certification is: who runs the exams, how they work and how to prepare for CTFL.
01
Book the right exam
Choose a provider, confirm the syllabus and check the terms before you pay.
02
Prepare for exam day
Check ID, delivery rules, equipment and any approved extra time.
03
Get your result and certificate
Understand who issues your certificate and how to verify it.
04
Plan a retake
Check provider terms and diagnose what to change before rebooking.
Separate exam rules from booking terms
The qualification’s syllabus and exam rules describe what is assessed and how it is scored. Your provider’s terms govern the appointment: price, delivery, ID checks, scheduling, cancellation and local support.
Keep both sets of information. A fact that is true for one provider or package may not apply to another.
Start with your exact exam
Confirm the certification name, syllabus version, language, delivery method and provider. Use those five details when you ask a booking question or compare offers.
Find the local details
Start with the country guides for 37 countries, or use the official exam-provider directory to find other routes.
If you are preparing for a retiring version, check the transition deadlines before you choose a date.
